GADSL (Global Automotive Domestic Substance List)

The Global Automotive Declarable Substance List (GADSL) is a list of substances potentially used in vehicle parts. The GADSL facilitates communication and declaring specific pure chemical substances in automobile parts. It was created on the initiative of global automotive stakeholders.

The GADSL lists prohibited substances and serves as a reference for implementing further measures for recycling end-of life vehicles in the EU, including the directive 2000/53/EC on end-of life vehicles.

Directive 2000/53/EC on end-of life vehicles

The aim of the directive on end-of life vehicles is to ensure environmentally friendly disposal of cars. As part of efforts to prevent waste, vehicle materials and components may, except in rare cases, not exceed the following maximum concentration values: lead, mercury, hexavalent chromium: 0.1 percentage by weight; cadmium 0.01 percentage by weight. Our pigments from the product ranges Iriodin®, Miraval®, Colorstream®, Minatec® and Xirallic® all comply with these requirements.
