To keep an overview of the trends and currents in markets, Merck employees are members of various trade associations – including VCI and IPEC – in the pharmaceutical and chemical industry. This allows us to keep abreast of the latest developments in laws and regulations in Europe, the US and Japan, for example. Cooperation in working groups that are engaged in current developments allows us to compile and evaluate important information on forthcoming legislative changes. This gives Merck the chance to respond in good time. Thanks to its lobbying group in the chemical industry, Merck can work with the appropriate committee and influence the drafting of new laws.

Membership in national and international trade associations
To be able to monitor the trends and currents in markets, Merck employees are members of various national and European trade associations – such as EFfCI, COLIPA, TEGEWA, IKW and VCI – in the cosmetic and chemical industry. Moreover, Merck is working closely with the US association CTFA, today Personal Care Products Council (PCPC), and keeps up-to-date in topic-specific working committees and working groups. This allows us to keep abreast of the latest developments in laws and regulations in Europe, the US and Japan, for example.
