The LIC Duet™ Nus•Tag™ Ek Adaptor encodes a T7 promoter, lac operator, ribosome binding site (rbs), ATG translation initation codon, and an N-terminal Nus•Tag coding sequence. The Nus•Tag is a 495 aa sequence that encodes the NusA protein, which has been identified as having the highest potential for solubility when a database of more than 4000 E. coli proteins was subjected to solubility modeling (1). Fusion to NusA has been demonstrated to enhance solubility of many proteins that are typically insoluble in E. coli. The Nus•Tag is also useful for detection of the target protein using the Nus•Tag Monoclonal Antibody.
