Recombinant, human, wild-type BRAC1 (amino acids 1-1863) fused at the C-terminus to a His•Tag® sequence and expressed in S. frugiperda, insect cells using a baculovirus expression system. Purified by affinity chromatography using FPLC. BRCA1 is a tumor suppressor protein involved in the homologous recombination pathway for DNA double-strand break (DSB) repair. Although evidence suggests that BRCA1 and BRCA2 appear to participate in different protein complexes and may play quite distinct roles in DSB repair, both BRCA proteins have been shown to interact with p53 (Cat. No. 506147) and RAD51 (Cat. No. 553504). Individuals carrying BRCA mutations are predisposed to breast cancer.
