NovaF– is a K-12 strain suitable for general cloning and plasmid DNA preparation. A derivative of NovaBlue lacking the F factor, NovaF- is the preferred host for cloning in pETcoco™ vectors, which carry the F episome oriS replicon, and the Gateway® Nova destination vectors. NovaF– Singles™ Competent Cells feature high transformation efficiencies and mutations in endA and recA for high yields of high-quality plasmid DNA. Unlike NovaBlue, NovaF– does not allow blue/white screening by alpha complementation and does not provide a source of lacIq repressor.
