Full-length, recombinant, human UbcH13 fused at the N-terminus to a His•Tag® sequence and expressed in E. coli. UbcH13, an E2 ubiquitin ligase, forms a heterodimeric complex with Uev1, and is able to assemble K63-linked polyubiquitin chains, which have novel regulatory roles. These ubiquitin chains have a role in a variety of processes such as DNA repair, endocytosis, polysome stability, and signal transduction pathways. The active enzyme is useful in the study of ubiquitin regulation and inhibitor screening.
