Full-length, recombinant, human UbcH2 expressed in E. coli. UbcH2 an E2 ubiquitin conjugase, is the human homolog to the yeast DNA repair gene RAD6, which is induced in response to DNA damage. it has been shown to conjugate ubiquitin to histone H2 in an E3 dependent manner in vitro. UbcH2 ha been associated with cancer-induced cachexia and with the regulation of spesis-induced muscle proteolysis. The active enzyme is useful in the study of ubiquitin regulation and inhibitor screening.
