A 17-mer phosphorothioate oligodeoxynucleotide directed against a sequence that is identical in the p42 and p44 MAP kinases (ERK2 and ERK1) and conserved in human, mouse, and rat. Causes a potent and concentration-dependent decrease in the steady state expression of p42 and p44 MAP kinase in 3T3 L1 fibroblasts and adipocytes. Prevents differentiation of fibroblasts into adipocytes at 1 µM. Note: 25 nmol = 130 µg.
