  • Merck at the European Coatings Show – effect pigment concepts for automotive and plastic coatings as well as architecture

    At the European Coatings Show (ECS) 2009 Merck will present its effect pigments in a conceptual framework. “This time it’s not the product introduction of individual pigments that’s the center of attention,” says Peter Geier from Merck. “This year we’re using the trade show to introduce our new conceptual approach to the trade audience. Its core element is the fact that we are developing series of effect pigments in which the variety of design and the performance in the coating are taken into account at the same time.” The advantage of this conceptual thinking is that it’s geared toward efficient and coating-specific styling variety. From the beginning, the effect pigments are created within the framework of color and styling concepts that are suitable for a multitude of coating applications.
  • Automotive Color Proposals 2008/2009

    Under the title “The Changing World of Color,” Merck presents inspiring color worlds for tomorrow’s automotive coatings in the latest edition of the Automotive Color Proposals. The background of the color proposals 2008/2009 are trend prognoses for the model years 2010 to 2012. These are based on the one hand on the interconnection between nature, environment, ethics and technology, and on the other hand range between glitter and other strong effects as well as homogeneous color tones.
    “We’re also seeing a comeback of red,” says Project Leader Helga Wolf from Coatings at Merck in Darmstadt. She continues, “Besides the continuous popularity of blue and black, white remains a trend, grey gains favor, while silver tones slightly abate. Light green and light brown are gaining importance with small and sporty cars.” The 60 color and effect stylings created on this basis are presented within six color worlds.
  • Tassimo: how effect pigments and the smell of coffee seduce

    The previous model of the Tassimo fully automatic hot beverage system has been replaced in several European and American markets by its successor that has a new design and new technology. The new appliance isn’t just multitalented when it comes to preparing coffee, espresso, cappuccino, café latte, tea or hot chocolate. It also enchants with its sleek design. Miraval® and Iriodin® effect pigments give the housing a brilliant appearance with a choice of red, black or silver.
  • Wallcovering sample book „Look and Touch – Sensual Effects for Wallcoverings“

    “Look and Touch – Sensual Effects for Wallcoverings” is a new high-quality, limited-edition wallcovering sample book from Merck and cooperating partners that impresses with its visual and haptic effects. A total of 16 stylings display fascinating color, effect and relief designs in which Iriodin®Solar Gold Satin and Lava Red, Colorstream® Pacific Lagoon and Royal Damask, Miraval® Starlit White as well as Pyrisma® Blue and Turquoise were used.
