Watch the movie of an inspiring event!
Architecture Forum from Merck and Material Connexion® Cologne
The Vulkanhalle in Cologne was the setting for the Architecture Forum with the title “Does architecture move surfaces? – Color needs new perspectives” in February. Organized by Merck and Material Connexion® Cologne, the trade convention with accompanying exhibition was labeled an advanced training event for architects. 18 exhibitors from the coating, plastics and printing industries led a dialog with approximately 150 participants from commerce, architecture and industry about the numerous and to some extent still completely unknown possibilities of designing surfaces.
The interdisciplinary discussion revolved around questions such as: What role does color play in this? What influence do effect pigments have on coloring and their emotional impact? How do materials attain an unmistakable identity? How is architecture influenced by automotive design and vice versa? The exchange between lecturers, exhibitors and participants, all coming from Germany, Austria and Switzerland, mapped out perspectives that brought individual’s visions a bit closer to their realization.
