RonaCare® Biotin Plus
The function of Biotin (Vitamin H) as a coenzyme in a number of carboxylase processes has been known for many years. Biotin acts as a biochemical CO2 carrier in the regulation of various essential processes such as glycogenensis, fatty acid and amino acid synthesis. RonaCare® Biotin Plus is a special synergistic combination which provides the biotin concentration necessary to produce the desired effect on topical application.

Recent studies have shown that biotin influences the composition of keratin and promotes the formation of intercellular lipid layers through increased lipid synthesis, which in turn improves the skin's natural barrier function. Biotin has a positive effect on fine and brittle hair by improving the quality of the keratin structures formed and it also provides a distinct reduction in fine wrinkles in the skin when applied topically.
For a topically applied product to be effective in increasing lipid synthesis, a critical concentration of the active agent in the target area, i.e. in the epidermis, is necessary. The first prerequisite, however, is a sufficient solubility in the applied vehicle and the ability to penetrate the strateum corneum.
To meet these requirements, we developed the product RonaCare® Biotin Plus.
RonaCare® Biotin Plus is an easy-to use dry powder and the water solubility of Biotin in RonaCare® Biotin Plus (1.4.%) is approximately seventy fold higher than that of Biotin (0.02 %) alone. RonaCare® Biotin Plus is an easy-to-use blend composed of Biotin, a buffer system and a penetration enhancer.
