Full-length, recombinant, human p70S6 Kinase (p70S6K) fused at the N-terminus to a His•Tag® sequence and expressed in S. frugiperda insect cells using a baculovirus expression system. p70S6K is a ubiquitously expressed serine/threonine protein kinase that can be activated by serum stimulation and inhibited by wortmannin and rapamycin. Activation of p70S6K requires phosphoinositide 3-kinase (PI-3K)-dependent and mTOR-dependent signals. The catalytically active enzyme is useful for inhibitor and activator assays.
